Welcome to the Rural Municipality of Meadow Lake's website!

Meadow Lake is located south of the beautiful Meadow Lake Provincial Park in the northwestern arable portion of Saskatchewan. The Municipality spans approximately 60 miles east to west and 70 miles north to south. Our Southern boundary is located just north of "Moose Country" on Highway #4 and extends to the Meadow Lake Provincial Park.

The RM #588 prides itself in several industrial sites such as the Meadow Lake OSB Mill, NorSask Forest Products, the Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp mill as well as numerous small businesses including farming and ranching.

Mission Statement

The mission of the RM of Meadow Lake is to maintain and enhance the economic, cultural and social wellbeing of our ratepayers. We strive to accomplish our mission by providing services to the public which cannot feasibly be achieved individually for the benefit of the public as a whole.

Public Notices

AS of July 6, 2021 9:00 am The RM of Meadow Lake has issued a Burn Ban. This includes the entire area of the RM of Meadow Lake, including all areas immediately bordering the forest and Provincial Park.  All current burn permits are now void, for further information please contact the office. 

 

Governance Audit 

 

This spring Council for the RM of Meadow Lake engaged a management consulting firm, George B Cuff & Associates Ltd., to examine the governance and management practices of your Rural Municipality. The results of this exercise are contained in the following report. A follow up with the author of the report is scheduled for August 12, 2021 after which your Council will establish priorities for moving ahead with the recommendations in the report.

   July 12, 2021 - Due to the Extreme Dry conditions the RM of Meadow Lake had declared the municipality a Disaster Area. 

 

 

Dear Ratepayers of the RM of Meadow Lake,

Council is pleased to announce that we have hired an interim Chief Administrative Officer (ICAO) for the RM of Meadow Lake. Mr. Mike Koziol will serve as our interim CAO while we begin the search for a permanent replacement. Mr. Koziol is a seasoned professional administrator with many years as a provincial and municipal leader and as an executive leader in engineering consulting and road contracting. He is a professional engineer and we are pleased that he has come on board to help Council deliver the programs that citizens deserve and expect.

Beaver Bounty Program

The City of Meadow Lake will be completeing repairs to Highway 4 and 1st Ave (Highway 55) between July 21st and August 15th. The timeframes will be 7 am - 7pm Monday to Saturday. For further information please click on the link to follow: Construction Impending Notice
